following this story and he joins us now from decatur, georgia. ron, good morning. >> hey, thomas. good day to you. eddie long is one of the most popular ministers in this country he built a religious empire in the atlanta area and some say these are simple attempts to bring all of that down. >> somebody needs to celebrate that moment. somebody needs to bless god for that. >> reporter: he's hosted presidents like here at the funeral of coretta scott king. >> we thank the king family and we're in much prayer for you. >> reporter: he preaches to tens of thousands at his mega church outside atlanta. he counseled president clinton during the lewinsky scandal and an outspoken opponent of homosexuality. but today eddie long, who calls himself bishop, stands alone in the hot spotlight, sued in civil court by three former male members of his church for sexual coercion. no criminal charges have been filed. they say long introduced him to his world of luxury, private jets, rolls royces and even putting them on the church payroll while pressuring them into having sex. >> the bishop was grooming young

'd like you to help us with some perspectives. the numbers are better than expected, but, as i understand, the gains were driven by apartment building and is this good news, bad news or something in between? >> a lot of numbers in between this. is it good news? look, anything that goes up is good news in this economy. we also have to put it into the perspective of how low we were from housing starts off of historic peaks to historic troughs. looking at that 10% number. the single rise in housing starts was good. we're seeing some increase although you have to wonder why if there's so much inventory on the market already. we came off that homebuyer tax market and we saw this huge drop in new home sales because of the tax credit, but, now, we'll start to see people come back into the market as the housing market recovers and we better be ready with some new construction to offer them. that's probably what they're thinking going into that single family housing number. apartment buildings which were up 32% month to month. why is that? because the homeownership rate is actually dropping. more

for failing a drug test. we'll go live to los angeles where kristen walker is standing by for us. a very early morning to you. why was lindsay released just hours after she was sentenced? >> reporter: really a stunning turn of events here, alex. you are absolutely right. essentially the superior court judge ruled that lindsay lohan was only facing misdemeanor charges. therefore, she was entitled to bail, which she set at $300,000. lindsay posted that and was home at 12:30 a.m. this morning. as you mentioned, alex, earlier in the day a judge ordered lindsay to jail for 30 days without bail. he was essentially holding her there until her next court date. she was in court initially because she had failed a drug test just weeks after she has been released from rehab. so that's why she was? jail yesterday. it was her third stint in jail all stemming back to a 2007 dui arrest. so she's really been struggling with this in and out of jail. and yesterday judge elton fox in the morning decided that he was going to put her in jail and teach her a lesson to be in jail without any bail. but again, the supe
